In this Victorian terraced house of interior designer Alice Leigh, we worked closely with her to design her new kitchen.

We decided on a monochrome palette with interesting textures to soften the contemporary, handle-free kitchen furniture and to blend in with Alice’s mid-century dining table and chairs. Buster and Punch handles on the tall units add interesting detailing and are more practical for the fridge and freezer. The Black Oak textured laminate units, from our entry-level furniture range, are robust and low maintenance – proving you don’t need to spend a fortune to get a beautiful, hardworking kitchen.

A Silestone composite worktop with subtle veining, similar to Calacatta marble, not only creates a neutral backdrop for vases and decorative pieces but is a durable, practical choice for busy family homes.

To break up the run of tall units, we put in a worktop-clad niche and created a wet bar with a Quooker boiling water tap. The discreet LED task-lighting strip can be dimmed for a softer, relaxed feel. The pantry cupboard doors are finished in a matt white glass, with natural oak pantry racks and shelving inside for dry food storage. A must-have in every kitchen!
